Full Job Description

  • Our family office is embedded within our principal’s operating business, which serves as the parent company for a diverse portfolio of businesses located in the United States and abroad.
  • Over the past decade, our family office has played a crucial role in managing family affairs, particularly servicing the lifestyle and concierge needs of our principals.
  • However, following the sale of our family’s primary operating business in 2023, our family office is undergoing a significant transformation, including a desire to scale and become a sustainable, multi-generational family office for future generations.
  • Our rising generation of family members currently range in age from their late 20s to late 30s and are beginning to have families of their own.
  • This period of renewal provides a unique opportunity to redefine the office’s structure and objectives with a fresh perspective.
  • We are dedicated to making a significant impact on society and the environment.
  • This commitment is guided by our strong belief in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the principals, addressing their needs and concerns while maintaining strong relationships.
  • In collaboration with the family, develop and implement the strategic vision and goals of the family office, ensuring alignment with the family’s overall values and objectives.
  • Support the development and operations of family governance structures to foster family unity and harmony.
  • Lead an initiative to define and document operational workflows for the family office.
  • Ensure effective delivery of lifestyle services to the principals, including personal asset acquisition, travel planning, and property/home management services.
  • Manage communication efforts with family members in coordination with the family services associates to keep them informed and engaged with the family office.
  • Participate in advisory boards and committees to support strategic decision-making and ensure effective communication with family members.
  • Effectively manage a series of strategic initiatives required to support the family office’s evolution.
  • Directly oversee relationships with internal and outside legal advisors, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and providing guidance on legal matters.
  • Oversee long-term strategic planning, succession planning, and enterprise risk management initiatives (including personal security) to ensure the operational continuity and future readiness of the family office.
  • Maintain and manage relationships with operating company associates who support the family office, ensuring seamless integration and support.
  • Supervisory responsibility for family office associates.
  • Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
  • Scheduling, assignments, and work location may be changed at any time, as requied by business necessity.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in senior management roles within a single or multi-family office
  • Proven experience managing administrative compliance and personal services within a family office, focusing on operational leadership over direct investment responsibilities.
  • Deep understanding of family office operations, administrative functions, and compliance requirements, including experience with defining and documenting processes and workflows
  • An understanding of tax concepts and structures commonly encountered in family office settings (e.g., individuals, trusts, investment partnerships, exempt organizations, international interests)

Minimum Skills and/or Knowledge Required:

  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational management skills, with a proven track record of managing strategic initiatives
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion
  • Proven ability to navigate complex family dynamics and maintain harmony within the family structure
  • Excels in environments characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with family members and other stakeholders
