Youth and Family Office Coordinator

FLC Now provides a quick, monthly look at ways to stay informed, be engaged, and get involved in the life of the church. Each month we’ll highlight ways in which the congregation can lend a hand, donate needed items, or simply be a part of the church family at happenings. New videos focusing on these monthly opportunities will be shared on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Essential Functions

  • Support the staff, volunteers, and Youth and Family Board
  • Manage Youth and Family calendars and communications with families of First Lutheran Church
  • Schedule and communicate with Youth and Family volunteers
  • Coordinate children’s, middle school, high school, and college ministries, as well as special events
  • Track payments and documents (e.g., fundraising, check requests, registrations, attendance, liability releases, background checks)
  • Help plan, coordinate, and lead Wednesday night meals
  • Order supplies, run errands, keep office organized
  • Other duties as assigned

Core Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communicator, attention to detail
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to work independently
  • Self-starter able to adjust and problem-solver
  • Knowledge in (or open to learning) new and current technologies as a means of connecting and communicating with staff, volunteers, and ministry participants (e.g., Slack, social media, Planning Center, OneDrive, SharePoint)
  • Able to work in an environment of Lutheran theology and faith

Support & Accountability, Compensation

  • Reports to: Youth and Family Ministry Team Lead
  • Minimum 2 years related experience required, associate’s degree preferred
  • Full-time, hourly, up to 40 hours per week
  • Approx. weekly schedule: Sunday 8:30a-12:30p, Monday 8a-5p, Tuesday 8a-5p, Wednesday 10a-7p, Thursday 8a-5p, off Friday and Saturday
  • Hourly wage in relation to education, experience, and ability
  • 3 weeks PTO, health insurance, 403B retirement, continuing education offered and encouraged
  • Pay: $16.50 – $21.00 per hour
