Chief Financial Officer, Single Family Office, London

A UK-based family is hiring a CFO for its private single family office near St James's, London. The role leads the family's financial strategy and reporting, treasury and tax compliance, and oversight of investments, an art collection and rental property, while managing the finance and art business teams. It also carries the Money Laundering Reporting Officer responsibility for a regulated art entity, so AML/MLRO experience is desirable. £200,000 plus discretionary bonus. Hybrid, with significant time in the St James's office.

The role spans several areas. Leadership: serve as trusted adviser on personal, investment and business matters and lead financial strategy with external advisers. Finance and reporting: oversee financial and management reporting, prepare materials for Family Council and board meetings, and manage audits and internal controls. Treasury and compliance: manage cash flow, banking, mortgages, bill payments and tax compliance, working with external tax advisers. Assets and operations: provide oversight of investment reporting, art collection finances and rental properties. People management: lead the finance and art business teams and handle recruitment and HR matters. External relations: coordinate advisers and vendors and oversee costs and insurance. Governance and risk: serve as Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the regulated art entity and maintain AML, legal and regulatory compliance and risk-framework oversight.

Requirements: a qualified accountant with senior finance experience; a UHNW or family-business background; strong tax knowledge; team-leadership ability; and discretion with sensitive matters. Desirable: art-market familiarity and an MLRO/AML background.
