A small family office is hiring a Bookkeeper to handle day-to-day bookkeeping and data entry of receipts and disbursements in QuickBooks Desktop and Online, and to support the senior accountant and managing director across investments, estate planning, taxes, philanthropy, art and asset management. The role also maintains schedules (art purchases, insurance, charitable contributions, recurring family events), keeps the family office handbook documentation, and provides light administrative and concierge support. On-site in Jericho, NY, with occasional NYC office days.
The position supports a small family office with bookkeeping operations and data entry of receipts and disbursements in QuickBooks Desktop and Online.
Key responsibilities: - Maintain schedules for art purchases, insurance, charitable contributions and recurring family events - Assist the senior accountant and managing director with investments, estate planning, taxes, philanthropy, art and asset management - Create and maintain family office handbook documentation - Provide administrative and concierge services to high-net-worth individuals - Manage internal documentation and filing procedures for financial statements
Required qualifications: - Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel - Microsoft Word and Office experience - High attention to detail and strong organisational skills - 2–3+ years accounting experience with an understanding of accounting principles - Strong work ethic, self-motivated, team player, able to work independently and collaboratively - Ability to maintain confidentiality and analytical problem-solving skills - Positive, "no task too small" attitude
