About Masttro

Masttro is a cloud-based wealth management platform founded in 2010 by a team working inside a complex, multigenerational single-family office. That origin still shapes the product: it was built for the problem of family-office wealth rather than adapted from a retail tool. The platform delivers a single, reconciled view of the whole of a family's wealth, from liquid and illiquid investments to liabilities and passion assets such as art, property and collectibles, under a WealthArchitecture model in which the data is owned exclusively by the client and protected with military-grade security and private encryption.

The Masttro platform offers control in three core ways: ingestion of complete wealth data and documents with the flexibility to handle any asset type or valuation source; holistic views of every corner of your wealth, presented simply and actionably with the ability to slice and dice the data based on your needs; and protection of that data with military-grade security and private, client-owned encryption keys.

Masttro is the original family office technology company. As of mid-2026 it serves more than 400 family offices and institutions and over 10,000 users across 40+ countries, connecting to 700+ custodians worldwide through direct data feeds with no screen-scraping. The company is privately held and backed by FTV Capital and Citi Ventures, which led a $43 million growth-equity investment in 2023, its first institutional round. It is headquartered in New York, with offices including Zurich and Monterrey.

At the core sits the Masttro platform: multi-custodian aggregation, ownership structures across entities and generations, consolidated portfolio analysis, and a Global Wealth Map for visualising the entire estate. Masttro Intelligence, the platform's agentic-AI framework launched in 2025, adds purpose-built AI agents rather than a single chatbot. Documents AI ingests and categorises raw documents such as capital calls, K-1s and statements; Alternatives AI extracts and analyses alternative-investment data; and an Intelligence Assistant answers natural-language questions across the platform, with automated reconciliation. Cash management, portfolio management, a secure communication portal and mobile apps for iOS and Android round out the platform.

Masttro serves single- and multi-family offices, RIAs, private banks, institutions and professional-services firms managing complex, multi-asset UHNW portfolios. It fits best where security and alternatives are the priority: heavy illiquid and passion-asset exposure, strict data-sovereignty requirements, and principals who want to hold their own encryption keys.

Unlike much of the category, Masttro does not price on assets under management. Its model is flat-fee and feature-based, typically a one-time onboarding fee plus an annual license that includes ongoing support, scaled to the modules and complexity of the deployment rather than to portfolio size. For a large or fast-growing balance sheet this can be more predictable than an AUM-based fee, and it is one of the clearest differences between Masttro and Addepar.

Masttro and Addepar are the two platforms family offices most often shortlist together. The clearest differences are the pricing model (Masttro's flat fee versus Addepar's AUM-based, sales-led pricing), security and hosting (Masttro's Tier 4 Swiss data centre and client-owned encryption keys versus Addepar's AWS and SOC 2 posture), and scale (Addepar is the larger platform with the broadest integration ecosystem, while Masttro is more focused and security-first). Both now offer conversational AI. Masttro tends to suit security-conscious, internationally distributed, alternatives-heavy families.

Recent milestones include the 2025 launch of Masttro Intelligence, a July 2025 partnership with Arch to enrich alternative-investments reporting and total-portfolio visualisation, and the January 2025 appointment of Jay McNamara, formerly of MSCI and Burgiss, as chief executive officer.
