The seat owns tax compliance processes for assigned entities, reviews third-party-prepared returns (trusts, individuals, philanthropic, operating and investment entities), manages external advisor relationships/budgets, supports audits/notices, and acts as an in-house tax resource across DFO. Requires 12+ years’ HNW/flow-through/trust tax experience and 5+ years managerial oversight; CPA and/or JD preferred. Hybrid; no immigration sponsorship.

The Dalio Family Office (DFO) supports Barbara and Ray Dalio and their family in ventures, investments, and philanthropic efforts under Dalio Philanthropies (OceanX, Dalio Education, Endless Network, Beijing Dalio Foundation). HQ Westport, CT; regional offices in New York City, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi.

The Tax Department oversees tax compliance for family-office clients across investment and business entities plus individual, philanthropic and trust reporting, and partners with other DFO departments on planning and new structures. The Senior Tax Manager owns sophisticated tax compliance and related planning for DFO, its clients, and related entities.

Day-to-day responsibilities include: - Ownership of overall tax compliance processes for assigned entities, including prioritized tax planning and supervising external/internal resources - Resolve complex technical tax issues; consult experts; prepare memoranda; communicate research to senior management - Review tax returns and workpapers for trusts, individuals, philanthropic entities, operating businesses, and investment entities prepared by third-party providers - Manage external advisor relationships including budgets, billings, and engagement letters - Liaise with lawyers, trustees, accountants, real estate brokers and other advisors on family-directed strategies - Act as an in-house tax resource for other departments; lead/participate in cross-functional projects - Manage tax audits and responses to taxing-authority inquiries and notices

Qualifications: 12+ years recent tax compliance/research/planning for HNW individuals, flow-throughs and trusts (public accounting, family office, or wealth-management tax); 5+ years managerial experience overseeing tax compliance processes including resource allocation and budgeting; bachelor’s or master’s in accounting or related; CPA and/or JD preferred. Compensation $175,000–$305,000 (inclusive of merit-based bonus) plus benefits (100% company-paid medical premiums, hybrid, generous PTO, 401k match, etc.). Unable to provide immigration sponsorship.
