Steffen Bilde is Chief Product and Technology Officer at Simple, where he leads product and technology and owns the platform that family offices run on.
Family offices are a demanding place to build software. The data is private, the structures are complex, and governance, security and regulatory requirements are core part of the job rather than something added at the end. That is what sets the shape of the product: sovereign data foundations, access and audit that hold up under scrutiny, and agentic AI built into how the work actually gets done.
Simple has spent years close to how family offices are set up, staffed and run. The platform is the technical extension of that work. Steffen leads the build, hands-on and alongside clients and the advisory team, so the product follows real workflows, real data and real permissions. What shapes the platform is the job that repeats across offices.
He started out as a software engineer and has spent more than 15 years since in product and technology leadership across European B2B software, from early-stage ventures to established platforms, in categories including customer operations, enterprise knowledge and insight, and regulatory and compliance technology. His strength is clarity in complicated domains, turning problems into opportunities and friction into delightful experiences for everyone involved in the daily running of a family office. He is hands-on with product engineering, building the systems, the agentic infrastructure they run on and the commercial infrastructure around them.
He holds adaptability to be one of the cornerstones of succeeding at anything, and it is the same principle that goes into the systems Simple builds, so they stay useful as the office, the technology and the requirements around them keep moving.
