The new Simple, and a breakfast in Berlin

A new andsimple.co, a breakfast for 47 family offices above the Tiffany's store in Berlin (no, not in it), and two new papers on Trusted AI and the Paris Closed Door Sessions.

Writing from Copenhagen, where the heat has the whole city drifting toward the water. Last week I dropped in at the Manyone offices, next door to the BIG HQ in Nordhavn. The takeaway from the event stuck with me: companies are finally moving from experimenting with AI to actually implementing it, and, just as importantly, services themselves can be productised.

It has been a full month. We hosted 47 family office principals and professionals in Berlin, launched a new website, and put out two new papers. Taking each in turn.

Quietly, then all at once

We have been building on the quiet, and the new andsimple.co is where it surfaces. The site now carries Simple Platform, Simple Select, a directory of more than 100 vetted service providers, expanded research and regional intelligence, and AI-powered search across everything we publish. If you have not looked in a while, it is not the site you remember.

Breakfast at Tiffany's (not in the store)

The team was in Berlin for SuperReturn week, working across dinners, receptions and roundtables. On 10 June we ran our own breakfast, Breakfast at Tiffany's, with co-hosts Investor's Kitchen and Carlsquare, above the Tiffany's store in Berlin. A few people took the name literally and went looking for us among the display cases. We still managed to herd 47 family offices together on the third day of the conference, and, tellingly, nobody was watching the clock.

What struck us was the texture of it. SuperReturn pulls a genuinely global room, capital from the Middle East, Asia, the Americas and Europe all in one place, and that mix showed up at the table in a way we had not fully expected. The talk was not about AI tools or asset allocation in the abstract. It was about what people are actually doing, and what they are willing to admit to peers they would not normally sit beside.

What the room actually wanted

The need that kept surfacing went well past co-investment. Family offices want real collaboration: sharing tools, sharing what worked, and, more valuable still, sharing what went embarrassingly wrong. The ones getting furthest are not the ones with the slickest playbook. They are the ones who found a peer they trust enough to be honest with. That, more than any tool, is the thing we keep trying to build the conditions for.

Two new papers

Two went live this month. The first is our view on Trusted AI for family offices, which now shapes a good deal of our research. The second is a collaboration with the Paris Closed Door Sessions, for anyone chewing on the big challenges and the role private wealth might play in them.

Upcoming workshops

London on 2 July is a closed working session on AI adoption, joined by Aman Soni, Head of Platform and Infrastructure, Private Assets at MSCI. It is full, with a waiting list open. Further out, and filling: Mexico City on 14 August, Munich on 29 September, Luxembourg on 7 October and New York on 13 October.
