Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another business-related field preferred
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted bookkeeping principles
  • Ability to read and interpret financial statements
  • QuickBooks knowledge is required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office with high proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with investments, particularly public equities is a plus

Position Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute the day-to-day bookkeeping activities of the family office
  • Process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable and receivable records
  • Prepare financial statements to calculate current tax liabilities throughout the year
  • Collect all tax-related documentation and coordinate quarterly and end of year tax preparation
  • Verify and document all financial transactions by maintaining accounting ledgers
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system through electronic document management
  • Process invoices and charge expenses to accounts after contract/agreement verification
  • Monitor bank and credit card balances/transactions and report activity
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy, correct discrepancies
  • Provide administrative support and prepare ad hoc financial/investment reports for management as needed
  • Set up any IRS year-end requirements

About You

  • Expertise in journal entries
  • Foundational knowledge in Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Annual Financial Reporting experience highly preferred
  • Practical knowledge of Annual Filings
  • General familiarity with Code Invoices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Audited Financial Statements
  • Detail-oriented, highly motivated, and a self-starter
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and willing to take initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks or another accounting program
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required)
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities
  • High level of integrity and trustworthiness of confidential material related to company operations with strict adherence to professional ethics
  • Resourceful and possesses critical thinking skills
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
