Our people, united by integrity, excellence, and a strong team ethic, are central to our success. We offer an environment where employees can learn, achieve, and grow, supported by a culture that values diverse perspectives and balances professional and personal priorities.

The Opportunity

The Ultra-High Net Worth (UHNW) Resources Group, branded as Family Office Resources (FOR), sits within Morgan Stanley’s Private Wealth Management division. FOR delivers specialized expertise and solutions to UHNW clients and advisors, addressing a range of family wealth management needs including estate and financial planning, philanthropy, family governance, education, and lifestyle advisory.

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director to serve as a FOR Generalist within the Field Engagement team. This role acts as the primary interface between Morgan Stanley’s UHNW clients, Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs), and the extensive suite of FOR services, ensuring seamless, high-impact engagement tailored to each client’s evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior trusted advisor to PWAs and Financial Advisors (FAs), identifying and implementing resources and strategies to address the complex needs of UHNW clients.

  • Lead the end-to-end engagement process, including needs diagnosis, customized planning, and coordinating execution through Morgan Stanley’s specialist teams.

  • Facilitate integrated, multidisciplinary planning across estate planning, tax strategy, philanthropic initiatives, business succession, cash flow modeling, and risk management.

  • Build and maintain relationships with national, regional, and local branch management to support UHNW business development efforts.

  • Proactively engage PWAs/FAs and clients not yet utilizing FOR services to demonstrate the value and breadth of available resources.

  • Represent FOR and Morgan Stanley at internal and external forums, delivering presentations and participating in client VIP and recruiting meetings.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and client dossiers to ensure continuity and excellence in service.

  • Collaborate closely with other Morgan Stanley teams serving UHNW clients to ensure cohesive delivery and leverage the full suite of firm capabilities.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience serving ultra-high net worth clients (e.g., in single/multi-family offices, private banking, trust and estate law, or tax advisory).

  • Advanced degree required (e.g., JD); additional certifications (CPA, CFP) preferred.

  • Proven track record of successfully advising and supporting multigenerational UHNW families on complex planning and wealth management matters.

  • Series 7 and 66 required; Series 24 preferred.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills; confident communicator who can synthesize complex concepts clearly and persuasively.

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively.

  • High emotional intelligence, client-service mindset, and collaborative leadership style.

  • Strong strategic thinking and project management skills; disciplined and detail-oriented, yet agile in response to client needs.
