The Opportunity
The Family Office Senior works with high-net-worth families to ensure their complex financial needs are met through tailored accounting, reporting, and planning services. Acting as a primary client contact, the Family Office Senior oversees accounting operations, monitors financial trends, supports major client projects, and provides analysis to inform decisions. This role also offers the opportunity to lead and train Family Office staff, review work, and deliver solutions that enhance the overall client experience.

The Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for client communications, project management, and issue resolution across multiple simultaneous client relationships.

  • Provide leadership and training to Family Office staff; oversee and review their work to ensure accuracy and client satisfaction.

  • Deliver core accounting services, including journal entries, payroll oversight, investment reporting/tax basis, and reconciliation of client data for ultra-high-net-worth families and related entities.

  • Analyze financial trends and recommend actions to manage cash flow, liquidity, and capital calls for private/direct investments.

  • Prepare financial reports, supporting schedules, and workpapers for individuals and family entities.

  • Collaborate with clients’ external advisors (CPAs, attorneys, etc.), providing analysis and information to enhance the broader client experience.

  • Onboard new clients by establishing reporting processes, chart of accounts, vendor/household relationships, and resolving initial issues.

  • Support client projects and major purchases with research, analysis, recommendations, and risk assessment.

  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; business or accounting major preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience; prior experience in a single or multi-family office environment strongly preferred.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis (no visa sponsorship available).

  • Excellent client service and relationship management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and research abilities.

  • Experience with Bill.com and QuickBooks preferred.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Highly motivated with initiative for professional growth and development.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple engagements.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
