About Us:
- Leo Capital Management is a privately owned family office that manages a diverse investment portfolio, including real estate assets (hotel, retail, industrial), an operating business, and an equities trading operation.
- As our portfolio has grown, we are seeking to bring accounting and financial management in-house to maintain greater control and efficiency.
Position Overview:
- Reporting to the Principals, the Family Office Controller / Accounting Manager will provide hands-on management and coordination of all issues related to tax planning & reporting, insurance & risk management, financial planning, accounting, and legal activities for the family.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting and Financial Management
- Manage and oversee the family office’s accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, bookkeeping, and forecasting.
- Interface with property-level accounting and management to ensure financial records are accurate, and consolidate property- and asset-level books into holding company accounts.
- Maintain and manage intercompany accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of the books and records for investments, purchases, and operating expenses.
- Implement and maintain financial controls.
- Conduct financial analysis, assist Principals with due diligence, and provide strategic input on both existing assets and new acquisitions.
- Oversee the financial management of a diverse portfolio, including residential rentals, commercial properties, hotels, and an equities trading operation.
- Investment & Risk Management and Administration
- Review insurance policies and make recommendations to enhance overall coverage.
- Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions for loan sourcing and management.
- Prepare investment performance & net worth reports and expense analysis.
- Provide creative solutions and think outside the box to address complex financial challenges.
- External Relations
- Assist tax preparers to ensure accurate and timely filing of federal, state, and local income tax returns, as well as other business-related filings.
- Work closely with outside advisors to ensure optimal financial and tax planning
- Manage interactions with banks, fund managers, tax advisors, attorneys, and other outside consultants.
- Assist with various planning functions, including cash flow management and estate/gift planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
- At least eight years of professional experience, including significant time spent in public accounting, with exposure to both tax and audit.
- Prior experience with trusts and the review of contracts (leases, operating agreements) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Experience with intercompany accounts and complex financial structures.
- Familiarity with different types of real estate, including residential, commercial, and hospitality.
- High degrees of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion, with a polished presentation and the confidence to work alongside highly driven and successful individuals.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to adapt to ever-changing priorities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools.
- Professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese is a major plus.
