The Opportunity
Karuna Advisors is seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and detail-oriented professional to lead the delivery of comprehensive family office services to our UHNW clients. This is a client-facing, hands-on role where you will serve as a trusted advisor to families and their related entities.
You will collaborate closely with partners, clients, and a team of professionals to solve complex family office challenges. You will play a key leadership role—overseeing client engagements, reviewing financial deliverables, managing operations, and driving relationships with third-party advisors including financial managers, attorneys, and real estate professionals.
This position is ideal for a seasoned accounting or family office professional with strong interpersonal skills, client service mentality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-touch environment. You will help families achieve their goals across investments, estate and tax planning, philanthropy, and lifestyle management.
Location
Remote / Hybrid with access to an appropriate home office setup. Occasional travel may be required.

The Position
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client families, managing day-to-day communications and fostering trusted relationships.

Oversee bill pay and wire transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Review client deliverables prepared by junior team members (e.g., journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements).

Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across multiple entities.

Provide accurate and timely financial data to support tax preparation and compliance in coordination with internal and external tax advisors.

Work with attorneys, financial advisors, insurance professionals, and others to help clients meet their investment, estate planning, and risk management goals.

Oversee personal and lifestyle services including travel coordination, cash flow planning, insurance reviews, and asset management (e.g., art, jewelry, real estate).

Lead client meetings and internal planning discussions to set and manage expectations.

Take ownership of ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives for high-touch client support.

Manage internal engagement teams for profitability and efficiency while delivering a premium client experience.

Mentor and develop junior team members, participating in training, performance reviews, and career development conversations.

Support the growth and continuous improvement of the firm’s family office practice through strategic initiatives and operational enhancements.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualifications

Minimum of 6+ years of experience in accounting or related field, preferably in a family office, CPA firm, or professional services environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree preferred.

CPA designation preferred.

Deep familiarity with financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and accounting principles.

Experience supporting high-net-worth individuals or families across multiple entities and asset classes.

Proficiency with cash flow planning, bill pay systems, and general ledger software.

Strong understanding of family office dynamics, including discretion, confidentiality, and a high-touch service culture.

Ability to prioritize, multitask, and operate in fast-paced and deadline-driven settings.

Exceptional communication, project management, and organizational skills.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience mentoring junior staff.
