Senior Manager – Family Office Advisory
The Client
Our client is a leading asset management firm, trusted by institutional investors and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) to deliver tailored investment solutions and enduring value. With a longstanding reputation for innovation and excellence, the firm is expanding its dedicated Family Office Advisory team to meet the evolving needs of UHNW clients. The firm is at the forefront of guiding the setup and structuring of Single Family Offices (SFOs) in alignment with the Securities Commission Malaysia’s framework, and is committed to providing a best-in-class, client-centric advisory experience.
The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity for a senior professional with deep expertise in wealth structuring, trust and estate planning, and family office advisory to join a high-performing team. The Senior Manager – Family Office Advisory will play a key role in leading the end-to-end setup of SFOs for high-net-worth families, acting as the primary liaison between clients, internal teams, and a global network of external advisors. This role offers a platform to operate at the highest levels of trust and complexity, delivering bespoke solutions in a collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment.

The Position
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the advisory and implementation process for setting up Single Family Offices under the Securities Commission Malaysia’s SFO scheme.
- Serve as the central relationship manager for UHNW families, coordinating across legal, tax, fiduciary, real estate, and financial advisors.
- Develop bespoke family office structures tailored to each client’s objectives, legacy priorities, and jurisdictional requirements.
- Advise clients on complex wealth structuring topics including trust formation, succession planning, tax optimization, and cross-border legal considerations.
- Act as a strategic thought partner to clients, ensuring a seamless and integrated service experience from planning through execution.
- Collaborate closely with internal sales, investment, and legal teams to align family office solutions with broader investment strategies.
- Maintain deep knowledge of regional regulatory guidelines, tax laws, and industry best practices related to family office governance.
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with client families and contribute to the firm’s continued reputation as a leader in the UHNW advisory space.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Estate Planning or a related discipline; a Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., STEP, CPA, CFP, TEP) highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in private banking, wealth management, trust and fiduciary services, or estate/family office advisory.
- Strong understanding of SFO frameworks, legal structures, succession and legacy planning, and intergenerational wealth transfer.
- Demonstrated success advising UHNWIs and family businesses on complex structuring across multiple jurisdictions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a consultative and solutions-driven mindset.
- Fluency in relevant legal and tax considerations applicable to family office setups in Malaysia and internationally.
- Strong network within the private wealth advisory ecosystem and a high degree of professional credibility.
